Bets: 3 Weeks to go, & Trump Ascending to Favorite

Image
Just 22 days from Election Day, Republican Donald Trump is the betting favorite over Kamala Harris 54.1%-44.9%. Six times the favorite has changed since the vice president became the clear choice of Democrats in the wake of President Joe Biden quitting. The latest difference is the largest since the first of those shifts. “We are going to defeat Kamala Harris, and we are going to usher in a new golden age of American success for citizens of every race, religion, color, and creed,” Trump said on social media Sunday. Harris, campaigning Sunday in North Carolina, told her audience, "As president it is my pledge to you that I will always fight for all the American people, and together we will build a brighter future for our nation." Trump has a 20-point platform , led by a return to enforcement of securing national borders. He chastises the Democrats for inflation that at 2.4% remains higher than when he left office in January 2021, yet is considerably lower than the 9.

In Endorsing Trump, Border Patrol Union Pushes Back Against Biden, Harris Claims

Image
The National Border Patrol Council, the union representing roughly 16,000 Border Patrol agents nationwide, endorsed former President Donald Trump for president while criticizing President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. On Monday, the union issued a statement , saying, “On behalf of the 16,000 men and women represented by the National Border Patrol Council, we strongly support and endorse Donald J. Trump for President of the United States.” They did so after endorsing Trump at a Prescott, Ariz., rally on Sunday where Trump was joined by many Border Patrol leaders. "If we allow border czar Harris to win this election, every city, every community in this great country is going to go to hell. The untold millions of people unvetted, who she has allowed into this country that are committing murders, rapes, robberies, burglaries and every other crime will continue to put our country in peril,” NBPC’s new president, Paul Perez, said. "Only one man can fix t

We're Inviting Rich Lowry Back to Wisconsin. Here's Why

Image
This is an opinion column by Rick Esenberg, the President and General Counsel at the Wisconsin Institute for Law & Liberty. In December, WILL and the National Review Institute will host Rich Lowry in Brookfield. In an era where public discourse is often reduced to sound bites, obnoxious and oftentimes outright false posts on social media, the Wisconsin Institute for Law & Liberty has sought to build more robust and honest dialogue. Here’s the background. A friend of ours at the National Review, Rich Lowry, has faced scrutiny following allegations that he used a racial slur during a discussion on Haitian Migrants in Ohio and the story’s political ramifications in the 2024 election. He didn’t. As John McWhorter, a respected linguist and cultural commentator (who happens to be black), explained, Lowry began to say one word, switched to another, and the resulting vocalization sounded like a slur. Lowry did not intend to denigrate anyone based on race. [caption id="

Facebook Blatantly Interferes in Close Wisconsin Senate Race Against Eric Hovde

Image
Facebook even removed a reader's post that said, "Vote for Hovde!" labeling it spam. Facebook is blatantly - and outrageously - interfering in the close Wisconsin race for U.S. Senate by repeatedly removing a Wisconsin Right Now news story that alerts voters about an "America First" candidate on the ballot who was recruited by Democrats in a deceptive attempt to defeat Republican Eric Hovde. https://twitter.com/wisconsin_now/status/1845681862749872569 To boil it down - Democrats are trying to trick conservative voters into choosing the Democratic-recruited candidate to destroy Hovde's candidacy, according to the Associated Press, and now Facebook (Meta) is trying to prevent conservative voters from learning about the scheme. In the most egregious example of Facebook censorship, on Oct. 13, Facebook removed a post sharing the story by WRN reader Dan Dahlke. "Vote for Hovde!" he wrote. Facebook removed the post, declaring that it "go
