Biden Budget Seeks to Spend Hundreds of Millions to Train School Teachers in DEI

Image
President Joe Biden's budget proposal seeks to set aside billions of dollars to push progressive gender, sexuality and race ideology at home and around the globe. The $7.3 trillion budget, released this week, also proposes spending hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars to train school teachers in diversity, equity, and inclusion dogma. The White House touted the spending in its announcement of Biden’s budget, which includes $3 billion to “advance gender equity and equality worldwide.” That $3 billion figure is several hundred million dollars higher than the 2023 budget request. Funding for domestic projects of the same kind are robust as well though, including for public education to "improve the diversity of the teacher pipeline." In fact, Biden’s budget prioritizes training a new generation of teachers who embrace progressive ideology on race, gender, and sexuality. For example, the budget includes $30 million to increase the number of teachers who

New Mexico Poll: Biden’s Support in America’s Most Hispanic State Declines Dramatically

Image
President Joe Biden’s support in America’s most Hispanic state has declined dramatically, according to a new poll. Biden trails former president Donald Trump 57-41 in New Mexico, representing a sharp reversal from his 54-44 victory in 2020, according to the poll, conducted by Public Option Strategies in conjunction with Power the Future, an energy worker advocacy group. The reversal of fortunes for Biden in New Mexico seems to be driven by dissatisfaction among Hispanic voters. Only 36% of Hispanic poll respondents approve of Biden, compared to 53% in July 2022. Conversely, 63% of Hispanic voters disapprove of Biden, compared to 43% in July 2022, according to the poll. Biden easily beat Trump among New Mexico's Hispanic voters 61% to 38% in the 2020 election. Biden’s struggles in New Mexico might be reflective of a broader backlash against his performance overall, as evidenced by national polling. Nationally, 58% of voters disapprove of Biden's performance, in contr

Biden's DHS Disinformation Governance Board Paused After Blowback

President Joe Biden's Department of Homeland Security " Disinformation Governance Board " has been put on hold after quickly falling into controversy, according to media reports. The Washington Post on Wednesday reported a pause for the board, which DHS head Alejandro Mayorkas announced at a Congressional hearing last month. Mayorkas told lawmakers the board would use federal law enforcement power to address disinformation. He gave examples of bad information given to migrants as well as Russian disinformation. "The goal is to bring the resources of (DHS) together to address this threat," he said before Congress in April. Soon after, videos emerged online showing the woman tapped to lead the board, Nina Jankowicz, making a series of controversial comments. News outlets reported her resignation Wednesday. Critics also raised concerns about how such a board could be used to silence free speech. Several lawmakers took issue with the board. U.S. Sen. Mar

Majority of Americans Oppose Choosing Supreme Court Justices by Race and Gender, Says Poll

President Joe Biden’s commitment to only nominate a new Supreme Court justice who is a Black woman does not have broad support, a newly released poll suggests. The ABC/Ipsos poll found that 76% of surveyed Americans say Biden should consider "all possible nominees" to fill Breyer’s seat while 23% say Biden should “consider only nominees who are Black women, as he has pledged to do.” Biden promised several times during the campaign to nominate a Black woman justice, saying he is “looking forward to making sure there’s a Black woman on the Supreme Court.” “Number one, I am committed that if I'm elected president and have an opportunity to appoint someone to the courts, I'll appoint the first Black woman to the courts,” Biden said in March 2020. "It's required that they have representation now. It's long overdue." Republicans have called on Biden to nominate a centrist judge. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, echoed the sentiments of the ABC poll and bla

Biden's Failure: Dems Unable to End Filibuster, Pass Federalized Voting Legislation Leaves Issue to the States

Biden is also under fire for remarks during the same press conference where he balked on saying whether he believed the next election would be legitimate, something that received major pushback. President Joe Biden’s aggressive push to federalize election law is likely over after proposed legislation failed to pass the U.S. Senate and a second vote to end the filibuster also failed. Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vermont, blasted Democrats from the Senate floor Thursday night, saying they should have overturned the filibuster rule to pass the legislation. “I can understand Republicans [not supporting the bill], but this I do not understand. I do not understand why two Democrats who presumably understand the importance of the Freedom to Vote Act, and as I understand it, will vote for the Freedom to Vote Act, are not prepared to change the rules so that that bill could actually become law," who caucuses with Democrats, said. "That I do not understand.” Sens. Kyrsten Sinema, D-
