I’m Voting For Donald Trump Because Judicial Misconduct Is Terrifying [WRN VOICES]

Image
Ed Delgado is the Host of The Ed Delgado Show My name is Ed Delgado. I am an American. And I will be voting for Donald J. Trump for President of the United States of America this November. What we have seen today’s guilty verdict in the Trump trial should scare the hell out of every one of us. This trial, to oversimplify things, was, is, and always will be a joke. To try someone for a misdemeanor that has passed the statute of limitations, to ignore the lies of Michael Cohen - who not only paid off Stormy Daniels on his own but also allegedly stole money from the Trump Organization - to have a judge stack the deck in such an egregious manner of what we will learn soon enough: judicial misconduct is terrifying. It is terrifying because if this can happen to someone like President Donald Trump, even with all of his resources, what hope do people like you and I have? Let’s take a little trip down memory lane. In what seems like a lifetime ago in 2016, I wrote an article fro

What Do We Do Now? [WRN VOICES]

Image
If you are like me, you really expected a “Trump guilty” verdict based on the biases of the judge and jury in New York.  We knew the odds were stacked against him.  We knew the judge dictated actions in the courtroom that benefited the prosecution and hindered the defense. He was a friend to the prosecution that was so obvious as to be obscene.  We knew the judge also has a daughter heavily invested in the Democratic Party.  On the payroll.  We knew the judge made rulings designed to stifle the defense and shut Trump up.  Gag orders?  Unbelievable.   And how does one find a non-biased jury in a totally Democratic area of New York?    How does one make up a “crime” to go after a former president when no real crime was committed? Yet, when the ruling came in, I did feel upset and very angry.  Even though I expected it,  it was rather sad. They shamelessly did it.  Disgusting. The left celebrated, not realizing how awful this is for our country.  Let them rejoice for the time be

Every City is the Bronx [WRN VOICES]

Image
“Do you know what today feels like? A baseball game. Everybody’s rooting for America.” —Lou Valentino All Trump rallies have a similar feel to them—always fun and full of positive energy and love for America. But something more significant occurred at the latest Trump rally in the Bronx, as Trump took a break from the blatantly politicized trial against him in New York to do a rally in one of the bluest areas of the country. You’d have to go back to 1980 for the last time a Republican presidential candidate visited the Bronx when Ronald Reagan paid a visit during the disastrous presidency of Jimmy Carter. “There’s a lot of people coming out here. It just looks so diverse…it’s just defeating every narrative there is. And Democrats are about to have a hard time in November because now New Yorkers are probably going to wake up and ask who are the politicians representing me? This is not about Trump; it is about Trump's strategy of coming here and putting pressure on them. And D

The Trump Show Trial Tribulations [Up Against the Wall]

Image
It’s difficult to keep up on all the machinations going on in politics these days. Normal people don’t want to hear about it; we’re just frustrated and pissed off quite honestly, which is why the Dems' strategy may backfire on them. While we all know a few people who love drama and can’t live without it, most humans don’t like drama. They’ll vote to get rid of Biden just to reduce the drama. I like to call the Dems’ strategy “all chaos, all the time,” but that’s a recipe for disaster for them, because sooner or later, people will have had enough. They’re worn out from it. And this phony show trial in NY is part of it. I mean, really, this case comes down to this; a single line on an invoice: “Legal Services…..$130,000” while the prosecution says the line item should have said this: “Campaign Expenditure….$130,000." Of course, had Trump’s accountant booked the expenditure that way, it would have been illegal, which is the irony in all this. And can someone explain to me h

The Madison Thought (& Energy) Police Strike Again [Up Against the Wall]

Image
Welcome Comrade, to East Germany Madison, where we insist that not only you turn over your private data on your private property to us, the energy police, but we also, for your convenience comrade, tell you to what say and think about our demands. We wouldn’t want the proletariat to think negative thoughts, so we, the Bourgeoisie (note we capitalized the term for you) have conveniently provided you with the thoughts and words that you will say to others about our demands. Failure to comply will mean cancellation and banishment to Siberia. You will post these words on your social media accounts and web site to demonstrate your faithful compliance and your support of the collective: “Benchmarking and tune-ups save energy and money. Buildings that consistently benchmark improve their energy efficiency by an average of 8%, and tune-ups cut energy use by an average of 12%. That means big savings on your energy bills. Saving energy also cuts carbon and air pollution. Currently, commerc

In the Midst of Chaos, Young Republicans Answer the Call [WRN VOICES]

Image
By Kyle Schroeder Things are not good for young people in America right now. Inflation is rising, opportunities to buy houses and start families are decreasing, and the media seems more focused on campus radicals and political trials than on real issues that impact millions of Americans. As chaos seems to be the focus of so many in American and Wisconsin politics right now, the Wisconsin Young Republicans stand ready to fight for freedom and take back control in 2024. The WIYRs are the only organization with the infrastructure, the manpower and the sheer will to deliver results come election day. We have proven this time and time again across this state. The best recent example of this is one of our victories in the elections this past spring. In a race for the Waukesha School Board, three conservative candidates were facing two leftist challengers. Over the past few years, the conservative majority on the Waukesha School Board has achieved some fantastic victories - ensuri

The UW Board of Regents MUST Rescind the Appalling UW-Milwaukee Encampment Agreement [WRN VOICES]

Image
I have never been more disappointed with leaders at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where I have been a full-time instructor for almost 20 years. I join the courageous call of University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Professor Shale Horowitz, who wrote, "The leadership must go." Minimally, the agreement must go. More university instructors and staff should speak out against UW-Milwaukee leadership's poorly conceived "agreement" (capitulation) with the group of pro-Palestinian activists who commandeered a section of campus for two weeks. We have an obligation to our Jewish students and faculty to provide them a "space space" on campus, to borrow past liberal terminology. Jewish leaders have decried this agreement as offensive and dangerous and say the chancellor, Mark Mone, has failed to "adequately respond to anti-Semitic incidents on campus since October 7." They want the Board of Regents to negate it. They must. During two

UW-Milwaukee Officially Endorses the “Genocide” Blood Libel Against Israel [WRN Voices]

Image
By: Shale Horowitz (Professor, Political Science - University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee) The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee leadership, on May 12, negotiated an end to an illegal protest encampment by endorsing the lie that Israel is likely guilty of genocide. The leadership’s statement openly supports the content and methods of the longstanding Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) campaign to destroy Israel. Thus, using the false claim of genocide, UWM’s leadership supports an effort that can only succeed by killing and expelling Israel’s Jews. It supports genocide under the cover of opposing it. This leadership must go. UWM claims : “…the UN had reported more than 34,000 innocent Palestinians…killed…. A United Nations (UN) expert and the International Criminal Court have now called this war a ‘plausible genocide.’” This is false and intentionally misleading. The 34,000 deaths figure includes Hamas combatants, not just innocents. Nor are UN bodies and “experts” with long

The Phony Show Trial Against Trump [Up Against the Wall]

Image
I have to admit, this NY trial of Trump over how a legal bill was ‘booked’ by the Trump Organization just doesn’t add up. I’m not going to repeat what has been said, rather I’d like to explore a few questions that business owners like me are asking. First, how is it that Trump’s lyin’ lawyer Cohen is able to testify against Trump, his client, upending every principal of attorney-client privilege? I consulted with a couple of lawyers on that one and was told that because Cohen was an active participant in the alleged offense, the attorney-client privilege rule is broken or waived. So don’t go into a criminal act with your lawyer! Second, Cohen claims that Trump ‘signed off on everything’. Really? If that was so, how come the prosecution didn’t enter an exhibit into the record some document that Trump signed off on the settlement payment to Cohen’s law firm? Because one doesn’t exist. The invoice said legal services - apparently it didn’t say “hush money payment to porn star."

What UW-Madison's Graduation Got Right & Wrong [Up Against the Wall]

Image
I have a love-hate relationship with the UW-Madison. On one hand, I love the university; it’s physically beautiful with its setting along Lake Mendota, with Bascom Hill, and with Bascom Hall looking straight down State Street to the state Capitol. After being told by my counselor two weeks into my freshmen year that I’m “the type of student who will fail” and after being rejected by the dean of the business school the first five times out of six tries to enter the business school, (yes, me), I later graduated with B.S. in economics and an M.S. in real estate from the UW-Madison. I also taught courses there, including having created the first sustainable development course in the world; coming from a guy the dean thought as a loser. So yeah, sometimes I hate the university. I do love going back to the UW, but I’m also frustrated at some of the behaviors of the UW leadership and decision-making when I’m there. First, I attended the graduation ceremony this past weekend, and I hav

Unity Among Conservatives: Eliminate the State Income Tax

Image
By: Courtney Gustafson Wisconsin is a middle-class state with coastal-elite taxes, and working-class families know it’s time for big change. Conservative grassroots are even taking action and are poised to adopt a resolution at the Republican Party of Wisconsin’s (RPW) state convention in Appleton this Saturday, May 18th, calling on all lawmakers to eliminate the state’s personal income tax. No more tinkering around the edges: working families need bold leadership to catapult Wisconsin to the top. Currently, nine states do not have an income tax, and Wisconsin could be number ten. If not, states like Iowa, Mississippi, Colorado, and Arkansas will pass us by, luring our families and businesses along the way. There’s a race underway in the country for workers, and workers are more mobile now than ever before. Simply put, states that take action will win. That’s why former Governor Scott Walker supports elimination. It’s why former Lt. Governor Rebecca Kleefisch supported eliminat

The Dishonest New York Show Trial Against Trump [Up Against the Wall]

Image
What can I say about the NY show trial that is out to get Trump? Maybe this. I have some experience with lawyers. As I understand it, the case is one of accusing Trump of mislabeling a billing from his lawyer (who has now turned against him) as legal fees, when the prosecutor says they should have been listed as a political donation. That I don’t understand. But in any case, my experience has been that law firms bill clients very generically. Sometimes it’s just the total dollars due, with no other information. Sometimes there is a little more information, like total hours and the subject matter. Most of the time we have to call and insist that the law firm provide the backup data like the hours incurred, what specific work the lawyer did during those hours, which lawyer, etc. That level of detail is never provided unless we call and ask for it. I am very certain that Trump’s lawyer billed him per their typical billing procedure, which would be a generic invoice with little to

UW-Milwaukee's Inaction on the Pro-Palestinian Encampment Is Shameful

Image
UW-Milwaukee must act NOW. UW-Milwaukee's inaction regarding the pro-Palestinian encampment on its campus is shameful. Get a spine. At least at extremely liberal UW-Madison, police, given the green light by university officials, briefly tried to clear the encampment there and made arrests (including of faculty). Meanwhile, at UW-Milwaukee, the hands-off stance fails to protect Jewish students and faculty and subjects them to intimidating scenes and signs. Ridiculously, the protesters are demanding things that UW-Milwaukee can not deliver ( because the university doesn't invest in weapons manufacturers already, for example). Enough. The university has blinked. And blinked. And blinked...even worse, the university's key response was to announce it has joined the White House in calling for a ceasefire (i.e. a prevent-Israel-from-defending-itself-after-the-October-7-massacre ceasefire.) How is that appropriate for a taxpayer-funded university? Can faculty, stud

The Coast Guard Academy’s Newest DEI Push

Image
By Michael R. Shevock DEI is a bad idea. It is divisive, racist, and anti-meritocratic. Coleman Hughes , Ayaan Hirsi Ali , Elon Musk , and a host of other first-rate minds have vigorously come out against it.  Yet, our Coast Guard leadership continues to promote it without discussion or debate. For an objective observer, that should be the first clue that something is very, very wrong. Supporters of this ideology are fond of the term ‘cultural competence,’ which they seem to believe is obtainable in a seminar or a classroom, but there are other paths to knowledge. For example, I enjoyed twenty-eight years in federal law enforcement, which, among other things, afforded me familiarity with the inside of a crack-house. Here are are some things I learned first-hand: (1) Underclass black America is indeed suffering unacceptable levels of violence and generational poverty; (2) Malcolm X was absolutely correct when he identified white liberals as an impediment to the progr

It's Time for Wisconsin to Arm Teachers [WRN Voices]

Image
“The only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.”   - NRA Recently, Tennessee became another state – joining 32 others -  whose legislators voted to allow teachers in schools to conceal carry. The bill is on its way to Governor Bill Lee’s office, where it is expected to be signed and put into law. Given how school shootings, which are actually very rare, play into the mental well-being of students and the concerns of parents, I often wonder why some schools continue to advertise they are a “gun-free zone?” Same as many other public places – like hospitals, movie theaters, libraries, grocery stores, etc. Plastering a decal of a gun crossed out in a circle at entrances (gun free zone), just seems to say to potential shooters: “we are unable to defend ourselves; we are sitting ducks.” Arming school personnel seems like a common sense idea. Have a sign by the entry doors like some public places do: “Armed personnel on site.” No one knows who is armed. An excelle
