Fort McCoy: Afghan Refugees May Be Sent to Wisconsin in Thousands

Wisconsin's Fort McCoy may be poised to get thousands of Afghan refugees, according to a Fox news correspondent. Jacqui Heinrich, White House correspondent for Fox News, wrote on Twitter on Aug. 15, 2021, "Pentagon confirms to me the Department of Defense is preparing to house thousands of Afghan refugees on American military installations, immediately including Fort McCoy in Wisconsin and Fort Bliss in Texas." She quoted a Pentagon spokesman by name for the report. “We want to have capacity to get up to several thousand immediately, and want to be prepared for potential of tens of thousands,” Pentagon Spox John Kirby told Heinrich, according to her tweets. “Bliss & McCoy have capability right now – what’s advantageous is w/ a bit of work, could increase in short order.” Fort McCoy is a United States Army installation that is located between Sparta and Tomah, Wisconsin, in Monroe County. Kevin Nicholson on Afghanistan: Fighting in the Graveyard of Empires

I am also angry with hundreds of politicians and generals who have allowed the war in Afghanistan to stumble forward, without a clear strategic mission, over the course of two decades. By: Kevin Nicholson One of the most frustrating aspects of politics, as a candidate, is that you often feel like you are fighting ghosts – or more accurately, cockroaches and rats. The cockroaches and rats of politics swarm about your feet in the dark, biting and nipping at your ankles, doing their best to pass their diseases onto you, only to then recede back into the dark when you move to stomp on them. I certainly felt this during my U.S. Senate campaign in 2018. But I experienced the same sensation much stronger, and much earlier, while fighting in Afghanistan in 2008 and 2009. I have lost family and friends in Afghanistan, I left behind my wife and child for months when I deployed there myself, and I am disgusted by the way that President Biden has haphazardly thrown away the sacrifices of so...

Jason Church: Afghanistan Chaos 'Rocks Me to the Core'

"This place is amazing. It's worth fighting for. It's worth dying for," Jason Church. If ever a person had standing to speak on Afghanistan, it's Jason Church. The Afghanistan veteran from Wisconsin lost two lower legs to an IED but finished law school, ran for Congress, and works for a U.S. Senator. He gave an emotional speech at a news conference this week, saying that what he is seeing on television now "rocks me to the core." "This has been some of the hardest days of my life," said Church. "Four days ago when I saw what was going on, I reached out to one of my men who served with me in Afghanistan. I knew based on our mission that there was a videotape of me being injured, of my men coming up to me and putting their lives on the line for their brother in arms. And for nine years I buried the scene. I knew it existed, and I didn't want to watch it." Church described how, the other day, he watched the video at long last ...

No Fort McCoy Afghan Refugees Had Special Immigration Visas: Congressman

"So, we’ve seen the debacle in Afghanistan. It appears the Biden admin is going to double down on it by bringing people who are unvetted into our country," - U.S. Rep. Tom Tiffany U.S. Rep. Tom Tiffany says that, of the approximately 2,000 evacuees from Afghanistan at Wisconsin's Fort McCoy when he visited recently, "none of them were there on a special immigration visas." He claimed that the refugees are not properly vetted. He also says that the Afghan refugees are allowed to leave the base unsupervised "including without the authority of the general." Those SIV visas, explained Tiffany, involve a "thorough vetting process that can take up to two years to find out if a person should be coming to the United States." Tiffany made the comments on the Tucker Carlson show on Fox News on Aug. 31, 2021. "I was at Fort McCoy last Friday where there are 2,000 evacuees from Afghanistan; what we found out is none of them were there on a...
