Jewish Groups Sue Palestinian Groups, Hamas Supporters

Image
As rioters take over college campuses setting up encampments, committing acts of violence, vandalism and  antisemitism forcing some graduation ceremonies to be canceled, a coalition of Jewish groups has sued Palestinian groups arguing they are “collaborators and propagandists for Hamas.” The global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, the National Jewish Advocacy Center, the Schoen Law Firm, and the Holtzman Vogel law firm sued AJP Educational Foundation Inc., otherwise known as American Muslims for Palestine, and National Students for Justice in Palestine. The  lawsuit was filed  in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern Division of Virginia, Alexandria Division.  The plaintiffs are nine American and Israeli victims of the October 7 Hamas terrorist attack on Israel. They include survivors of the attack, family members of those Hamas murdered, and civilians still under fire from and displaced by Hamas’ continued aggression. The lawsuit alleges the plaintiffs continue to be inj

WILL Asked to Join Supreme Court Case Over School Choice in Wisconsin

The legal fight over school choice in Wisconsin could be growing. The Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty asked to join the Supreme Court case that would end the state’s school choice programs. “On behalf of our clients and about 65,000 students who benefit from Wisconsin’s choice programs, WILL stands ready to defend the rule of law and the educational freedoms afforded to students and families alike,” WILL President and General Counsel Rick Esenberg said in a statement. Progressive activist and frequent candidate Kirk Bangstad filed a lawsuit last month that says Wisconsin’s four taxpayer-funded school voucher programs are unconstitutional. Bangstad is asking the liberal-majority Wisconsin Supreme Court to strike down those programs and send the money that choice students receive back to the state’s public schools. WILL’s argument is the lawsuit is too broad, wrong and asks the court to end “settled law.” “[Bangstad’s] arguments are factually incorrect and that gran

Mandela Barnes Concedes, Ron Johnson Declares Victory in Wisconsin U.S. Senate Race

It’s all over but the official final count in Wisconsin’s race for U.S. Senate. Democrat Mandela Barnes conceded the race Wednesday morning. "Unfortunately, we didn’t get over the finish line this time," Barnes told reporters. "But just because we didn’t get across the finish line that doesn’t mean that it’s over." Barnes added "I've fought the good fight. I've run my race. I've kept the faith." Barnes’ concession came after the last votes were counted in Milwaukee County early Wednesday morning. Republican U.S. Senator Ron Johnson said while the vote total is not official yet, there are not enough votes for Barnes to snag a last-second victory. "There is no path mathematically for Lt. Gov. Barnes to overcome his 27,374 vote deficit. This race is over," Johnson said Wednesday morning. Johnson went to bed earlier Wednesday telling his supporters the same thing. “This race is over,” he said. Johnson’s victory keeps Wis
