Obama Sister-in Law Sent 'Incessant Series...of Disrespectful Emails," USM Alleges in New Motion

Image
Michelle and Barack Obama's sister-in-law sent an "incessant series of lengthy, misguided, and often disrespectful emails and text messages" to teachers at University School of Milwaukee, the school's lawyers wrote in a May 19, 2022, motion, seeking to dismiss Craig and Kelly Robinson's lawsuit against the school, which they say was designed to obtain maximum media attention but is legally flawed. In an update to the school community, University School of Milwaukee head Steve Hancock alleged that "numerous false claims were made regarding racial and socioeconomic bias at the school." The school notes in the court motion obtained by Wisconsin Right Now: "Other true facts are strategically omitted from the Robinsons’ Complaint. The Robinsons fail to mention that Mrs. Robinson began regularly attending her older son’s virtual classes during the pandemic to observe and critique his teachers. The Robinsons omit that she thereafter sent an incessant

Brad Schimel: Adam Jarchow Bill Would 'Serve the Interests of Criminals'

Image
The Jarchow bill was so poorly written that it earned the strenuous opposition of the Republican Attorney General and 5 of the state's major law enforcement organizations. Former Legislator Adam Jarchow, who is running for state Attorney General, co-authored a bill to create a political "oversight" committee of police that so troubled Republican Attorney General Brad Schimel that Schimel warned it would "actually serve the interests of criminals." People who don't trust big government and who respect law enforcement officers may cringe at the name of the committee Jarchow and a handful of other legislators wanted to create to give politicians oversight over some decisions by police agencies throughout the state: "the legislative Committee on the Oversight of Law Enforcement and Investigation." Justice Clarence Thomas: 'We Are in Danger of Destroying The Institutions ... Required For a Free Society'

It’s been two weeks and there’s still no word on who leaked the U.S. Supreme Court draft brief indicating that the court was set to overturn Roe V. Wade and returning the issue of abortion back to the states. At a recent event in Dallas, Texas, hosted by the American Enterprise Institute, the Hoover Institution, and the Manhattan Institute, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas spoke about the leak and his concern for the rule of law and credibility of the court. A roughly 8-minute clip of his talk was published by C-SPAN, in which he said, “I think we are in danger of destroying the institutions that are required for a free society. You can’t have a civil society, a free society without a stable legal system. https://twitter.com/cspan/status/1525497678263635972 “You can’t have one without stability in things like property or interpretation and impartial judiciary. I’ve been in this business long enough to know just how fragile it is.” Prior to the draft opinion being leake

Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson's Emergency Curfew Order Led to ZERO Tickets

The emergency curfew ordinance also had no teeth because the jail won't take people arrested on municipal warrants anyway. Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson's main strategy to prevent violence after 21 people were shot downtown Friday was a citywide curfew. However, police issued ZERO curfew tickets during the two days the Milwaukee emergency curfew order was in place. Furthermore, since Johnson called Tuesday for "enhanced" enforcement of the regular curfew ordinance, only 5 curfew tickets have been issued throughout the city. Wisconsin Right Now has also learned, that the emergency curfew ordinance had no real teeth because the jail won't take people with only municipal warrants. After the downtown shootings on Fridays, Johnson responded with the emergency curfew order for Saturday and Sunday, limiting people under 21 from going to the Water Street area after 11 p.m. "The order was only for Saturday and Sunday. There were no citations issued,"

Biden's DHS Disinformation Governance Board Paused After Blowback

President Joe Biden's Department of Homeland Security " Disinformation Governance Board " has been put on hold after quickly falling into controversy, according to media reports. The Washington Post on Wednesday reported a pause for the board, which DHS head Alejandro Mayorkas announced at a Congressional hearing last month. Mayorkas told lawmakers the board would use federal law enforcement power to address disinformation. He gave examples of bad information given to migrants as well as Russian disinformation. "The goal is to bring the resources of (DHS) together to address this threat," he said before Congress in April. Soon after, videos emerged online showing the woman tapped to lead the board, Nina Jankowicz, making a series of controversial comments. News outlets reported her resignation Wednesday. Critics also raised concerns about how such a board could be used to silence free speech. Several lawmakers took issue with the board. U.S. Sen. Mar

"The continued disregard for public safety exhibited by Governor Evers and his administration is apparent," - state Sen. Roger Roth. [caption id="attachment_81778" align="alignleft" width="212"] Sen. Roger Roth (R-Appleton)[/caption] Sen. Roger Roth (R-Appleton) has drafted a rare petition seeking to override the state Senate's majority leader and force a legislative vote to fire Tony Evers' embattled Parole Commission chairman John Tate, whose parole of a brutal wife-killer has caused major controversy. "Senator Roth is exercising the power of a special petition afforded to legislators, to call for an extraordinary session," Roth, a candidate for lieutenant governor, wrote in a news release on May 18, 2022. "The petition requires majority support from both houses of the legislature, to trigger the legislative action." Roth's extraordinary move comes after Democratic Gov. Tony Evers chose not to fire Ta
