In debate on the Senate floor yesterday, during National Police Week, State Senator Chris Larson accused police officers of “shooting for sport,” and being “quick to pull the trigger," according to a press release from two state senators, who are condemning the comments. Early in the debate on SB 517, Sen. LaTonya Johnson (D-6) talked about Officer Mensah, police misconduct payments made by the city of Milwaukee, and about the police officer who shot and killed Dontre Hamilton at Red Arrow Park. When Sen. Larson spoke, he referred to the officer as a ‘cowardly officer’. Waukesha County Sheriff Eric Severson has endorsed Jim Piwowarczyk for state Assembly , saying he believes Piwowarczyk will serve the district with "great effectiveness." "I'm enthusiastic about Jim's candidacy. He will be a strong, smart voice for public safety and has the analytical skills to serve his district with great effectiveness," Severson said. The leadership’s statement openly supports the content and methods of the longstanding Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) campaign to destroy Israel. Thus, using the false claim of genocide, UWM’s leadership supports an effort that can only succeed by killing and expelling Israel’s Jews. It supports genocide under the cover of opposing it. I have to admit, this NY trial of Trump over how a legal bill was ‘booked’ by the Trump Organization just doesn’t add up. I’m not going to repeat what has been said, rather I’d like to explore a few questions that business owners like me are asking. First, how is it that Trump’s lyin’ lawyer Cohen is able to testify against Trump, his client, upending every principal of attorney-client privilege? I consulted with a couple of lawyers on that one and was told that because Cohen was an active participant in the alleged offense, the attorney-client privilege rule is broken or waived. So don’t go into a criminal act with your lawyer! Second, Cohen claims that Trump ‘signed off on everything’. Really? If that was so, how come the prosecution didn’t enter an exhibit into the record some document that Trump signed off on the settlement payment to Cohen’s law firm? Because one doesn’t exist. On Tuesday, the Republican-controlled Wisconsin Senate voted to override nine vetoes from Gov. Tony Evers, including the vetoes that scuttled PFAS clean-up money, millions of dollars that were earmarked for hospitals in Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls and a plan that would allow advanced practice registered nurses to work more independently. “The legislature has passed hundreds of bills to solve problems facing Wisconsin businesses and families.
